OF COM P ONENTS
The component maintenance periods indi-
cated below are for reference, and depend
largely on factors such as the weather con-
ditions (adverse conditions considerably re-
duce the life of the components and main-
tenance times), cleanliness of the bicycle
and its components (components with ac-
cumulated dirt wear out more quickly) and
use (more demanding use of the bicycle will
require shorter maintenance periods).
For components from other brands mounted
on Orbea bicycles, you can check the recom-
mended or mandatory maintenance periods
on the manufacturer's website or by contact-
ing that brand's dealer in your country.
Damage to components as a result of failing
to follow the recommended maintenance
periods could result in damage that is not
covered by Orbea's or the manufacturer's
warranty.
Failure to comply with maintenance periods
could result in damage to the components
and lead to malfunctions and accidents.

ELECTRICAL ASSIST SYSTEM COMPONENTS:
Regularly check the connections and cables of the elec-
tric assist system components on your bicycle. The con-
nections must be clean and free from foreign objects.
The cables must be in good condition and not have any
cuts or kinks that could cause short circuits and loss of
-
electrical assist. The exterior of components such as re-
mote controls and batteries must show no damage that
would allow water or other items to enter.
If there is any damage at all to the electrical components,
go to your Orbea dealer for diagnosis and/or replacement.
-
Consult the section of this manual enti-
tled "Warnings on the Use of the Electri-
rectly care for its components.
UPDATES TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:
-
Ebike electrical assist systems can have improvements or
updates that improve the operation of the system. Some
is always advisable to disable the connection
to mobile networks and WiFi to prevent an
incoming call or message from interrupting
the update. If the update is interrupted and
this causes the bicycle to malfunction, take
it to an authorised Orbea dealer to have the
update performed using the Shimano SM-
found here:
Other updates may need to be performed by an authorised
dealer. Remind your dealer to check for any available up-
dates for your bicycle when you bring it in for maintenance
or repairs.
Some of these checks and maintenance
requirements go beyond the mechanical
knowledge of most bicycle users. If you
maintenance, always go to an Orbea dealer
for the maintenance of your bicycle and its
components. Failure to perform proper main-
tenance can result in malfunctions and acci-
dents with serious consequences.
Incorrectly performed maintenance can dam-
age the components, which are not covered
by the warranty.
