On carbon handlebars, apply a light coating of carbon fric-
tion compound to the handlebar-to-stem mounting surface.
For aluminium handlebars with aluminium stems, do not
apply any mounting compound to the clamping area of
the handlebar.
If you are going to use a carbon stem, whether the handle-
bar is aluminium or carbon, apply a light coating of carbon
friction compound to the mounting surface of the handle-
bar to the stem.
