CHARGING THE BATTERIES

Fully charge the internal battery or Range
Extender before using the bicycle for the
ORBEA RS 540WH GEN2 AND RS 360WH
GEN INTERNAL BATTERY
The RS Gen2 smart charger for the Rise Car-
bon 2023 is not compatible with Rise Carbon
2021-2022, Rise Hydro 2022, Kemen 2022
or Urrun 2022. See the RS component com-
patibility table in the corresponding annex of
this manual.
To charge the Rise internal battery, connect the charger to

Open the Rise charging port cover and connect the
charger by correctly aligning the connector with the
charging port.

top of the charging point.
The charger's LED will light up in steady blue for 2
seconds and will then start to turn on and gradually
fade off in a cyclical manner until the battery is fully
charged.
When the battery is fully charged, the LED on the charger
will light up again in steady blue.

If the LED on the charger lights up in red
when the charger is plugged into a socket or
during charging, there is a problem.
Immediately disconnect the charger and see
the charger troubleshooting section of this
manual. If the problem persists, contact an
authorised Orbea dealer.

Disconnect the charger from the Rise charging port by
carefully pulling on the charger connector. Make sure that
the charging port cover is properly closed.
The bicycle cannot be switched on while the charger is
connected to the charging port.
If you want to know the exact remaining charge percent-
age, disconnect the charger from the charging port, turn
on the bicycle and check the charge level on the SW-
EN600-L switch unit, the display or connect the bicycle

the battery for long periods of time and monitor the
charging of the battery so that you can disconnect the
charger if you detect any anomaly such as smoke, a
The RS smart charger is designed to stop the charging
process when the battery is completely charged. This pre-
vents damage to the cells and means you can charge the
battery worry-free.
However, it is always advisable to supervise the charging
process to prevent damage if the charger does not operate
properly.
Lithium batteries are temperature-sensitive during the
charging process. Always observe the temperature rang-
es described in this manual for charging, discharging and
storage.
