INDICATIONS
Emergency stop devices need to be installed according to the generally valid
and accepted engineering standards, e.g., European standards EN 60204 and
related. The Emergency Stop Device provided by Franka Robotics needs to
be connected to the X3 port. Other devices than the Emergency Stop Device
provided by Franka Robotics may be connected to the X3 port as well.
The devices connected to the emergency stop signal must follow EN 60947-
5-5 or EN 62061. Connected emergency stop devices must be placed such
that they are easily reachable in case of emergency. Disconnected emergency
devices must be removed to prevent misunderstandings.
For more information on wiring, see "Wiring for X3" in paragraph "Safety
Settings and Watchman".

Completing the installation

• Connect the External Enabling Device to the connector X4 on the base of
the Arm.
• Ensure that the guide pins are pointing in the right direction (A).
• The plug itself is pulled into the connector by turning the movable front
part of the plug. Turn hand-tight (B).
• Connect the Emergency Stop Device to the connector X3 on the base of
the Arm.
• Ensure that the guide pins are pointing in the right direction (C).
• By turning the movable front part of the plug, the plug itself is pulled into
the connector. Turn hand-tight (D).
• Place both devices within easy reach of the user.
