Fault
Pump(s) not stable and/or make
unusual noises
Motor or pump become too warm Air in the inlet
Current consumption is too high
Motor protection switch triggers
22
Cause
Major fluctuations in the inlet pressure
Inlet pipe is blocked or shut off
Nominal diameter of the inlet pipe is too
small
Inlet pipe is installed incorrectly
Air in the inlet
Air in the pump
Impellers are blocked
Flow rate is too high
Incorrect direction of rotation of the
motors
Mains voltage: A phase is missing
Pump is not adequately secured to base
frame
Bearing damage
Gate valve in the system is closed or not
sufficiently open
Impellers are blocked
Non-return valve is blocked
Shut-off device is closed at pressure
sensor
Deactivation point set too high
Bearing damage
Turn-to-turn fault in the motor
Mains voltage: A phase is missing
Non-return valve is leaking
Flow rate is too high
Turn-to-turn fault in the motor
Mains voltage: A phase is missing
Non-return valve is defective
Flow rate is too high
Power contactor is defective
Turn-to-turn fault in the motor
Mains voltage: A phase is missing
Remedy
Check the inlet pressure and take measures to
stabilise the inlet pressure if necessary (e.g.
pressure reducers).
Check the inlet pipe and remove the clogging or
open the shut-off device if necessary
Check the inlet pipe and increase the cross-sec-
tion of the inlet pipe if necessary
Check the inlet pipe and change the pipe routing
if necessary
Check and shut off the piping and vent the
pumps if necessary
Vent the pump, check the impermeability of the
suction line and seal it if necessary
Check the pump and replace it or have it
repaired if necessary
Check the pump data and default values and
correct them if necessary
Check direction of rotation and correct by
changing over phases if necessary
Check the fuses, cables and connections
Check the fixation and re-tighten the fastening
screws if necessary
Check the pump/motor and replace it or have it
repaired if necessary
Check and shut off the piping and vent the
pumps if necessary
Check and open the shut-off device completely
if necessary
Check the pump and replace it or have it
repaired if necessary
Check and remove the clogging or replace the
non-return valve if necessary
Check and open the shut-off device if necessary
Check the setting and correct if necessary
Check the pump/motor and replace it or have it
repaired if necessary
Check, if necessary replace motor or have it
repaired
Check the fuses, cables and connections
Check and replace the seal or non-return valve if
necessary
Check the pump data and default values and
correct them if necessary
Check, if necessary replace motor or have it
repaired
Check the fuses, cables and connections
Check and replace the non-return valve if nec-
essary
Check the pump data and default values and
correct them if necessary
Check it and replace it if necessary
Check, if necessary replace motor or have it
repaired
Check the fuses, cables and connections
