Connecting the Intermediary Tubing
The Intermediary tubing (Figure 8) provides a sterile connection to the arthroscope sheath . It is
designed to be used with the Inflow tubing and must be discarded after each surgery .
NOTE: This procedure may be used when operating the pump in either DUO (Irrigation,
SHAVER
Handpiece and Suction) or SOLO (Irrigation and Handpiece) modes.

8 . Remove the caps from the irrigation spikes and insert the spikes into
the irrigation bags .
9 . Open the two (2) clamps on the Inflow tubes .
10 . Press the RUN/STOP pad to turn on the pump .
11 . To prime the pump, press and hold the FILL Chamber Pad until the
chamber is 1/3 full . Refer to the mark on the Fill Chamber shown in
Figure 7 .
WARNING! The pressure chamber must remain vertical
during the procedure. Make sure that the pump is
positioned at the same level as the patient or adjust the
pressure as described in Chapter 6.

To connect the Intermediary tubing, use aseptic technique .
1 . STERILE OPERATOR: Make sure that the luer-lock is properly
tightened and pass the
2 . NON-STERILE OPERATOR: Remove the
intermediary tube and Inflow tubing and immediately connect the
Inflow Tubing luer-lock to the Intermediary Tube luer-lock .
