    • Service and repairs to the product may only be carried out by qualified personnel� If you have any problems, please contact your specialist dealer� This ensures that any necessary repairs will be made exclusively with Ottobock spare parts� • Your product may differ from the models shown� In particular, not all the options described in these instructions for use will be installed on your product� • The manufacturer reserves the right to make technical changes to the model described in these instructions for use� 2    Product description 2.1    Function This seat for a rehab buggy is intended solely for transporting children with walking disabilities or who are unable to walk, or children who cannot move about independently for other reasons� This seat for a rehab buggy has only been approved for transporting one child aged approx� 1 to 10 years (depending on the size and weight of the child)� It is operated by an attendant (conveyance by another person)� This seat for a rehab buggy can be used indoors and outdoors� It is fully adjustable to provide an optimized, individual fitting� Ottobock | 5...

    4.2    Storage The seat must be stored in a dry place� An ambient temperature between -10 °C and +40 °C must be maintained� Direct exposure to sunlight or UV radiation causes the components to age more quickly� This results in more rapid material fatigue, which can lead to limited functionality and unwanted defects� 5    Preparation for use 5.1    Assembly CAUTION Exposed pinch points Crushing, pinching due to incorrect handling X When folding out the backrest, only grip by the specified components� CAUTION Improper assembly Falling, tipping over of the user due to components coming off X When attaching the seat, make sure you hear it engage into the mobility base� X Secure the seat using the seat lock� CAUTION Non-activated tilt-limiting mechanism Falling out of the user due to user error X Before rotating the seat, always adjust the tilt-limiting mechanism on the mobility base� Mounting the seat 1� Place the seat on the rear tube of the seat adapter at an angle of approximately 45° (see Fig� 2)� 2� Press the front edge of the seat onto the mobility base until the retaining claw snaps onto the front tube of the seat adapter (see Fig� 3)� In order to do so, pull the lever of the retaining claw forward (see Fig� 4) and hold it until the seat has engaged on the front tube of the seat adapter (see Fig� 5, see Fig� 6)� 3� Check that the seat and the mobility base are securely connected� You can do this by pulling back the backrest� Ottobock | 9...

    X Any time you loosen a screw connection with thread lock, replace it with a new screw connection or secure the old screw connection with medium strength thread locker (e�g� Loctite® 241)� CAUTION Improper use of self-locking nuts Tipping, falling over of the user due to screw connections coming loose X Always replace self-locking nuts with new self-locking nuts after disassembly� INFORMATION Please also observe the safety instructions in the section "Safety" > "Safety instructions for use"� In the interest of user safety, the following inspection must be conducted prior to use: 1� Verify firm locking of the seat and back angle adjustment mechanism� 2� Verify the functionality of all belt buckles on the safety belts and/or positioning aids� 6.2    Removing and mounting the seat CAUTION Incorrect mounting of the seat Falling out of the user if the seat is not secured X Secure the seat using the seat lock� X When attaching the seat, make sure that it engages into the mobility base� To facilitate transportation of the rehab buggy in a passenger vehicle or to divide the weight into two units for lifting, the seat can be easily detached from and reattached to the outdoor mobility base� Detaching the seat 1� Stand next to the seat and hold the seat by the top of the backrest with one hand� 2� Push the seat lock lever forward (see Fig� 7)� Æ The retaining claw will now release the seat adapter� 3� Tip the seat back at an angle of approx� 45° and then lift it up (see Fig� 7)� Ottobock | 11...

    Settings and use 6.4    Adjusting the seat depth 1� Remove the seat padding from the seat plate, including the hook and loop secured plastic seat insert� 2� Loosen the hex head screws on the right and left seat rail so that the seat rails slide into a longer or shorter position� 3� Tighten the hex head screws to secure the seat rail at the desired seat depth� 4� Take the plastic seat insert that was removed and line it up with the front edge of the seat and press to secure the hook and loop� 5� Put the padded seat cushion back onto the seat, tucking any remaining cushion depth between the gap of the back shell and the seat� 6.5    Adjusting the seat width 1� Remove the seat padding from the seat plate (see Fig� 12)� 2� Open the rear hook-and-loop closure of the seat padding and carefully remove the foam pad (see Fig� 16)� 3� Adjust the width of the seat by removing the appropriate number of segmented foam strips from the right and left lateral thigh supports� 4� Carefully insert the foam pad back into the cover and close it� 5� Position the entire seat padding back on the seat plate� Ottobock | 13...

    6.12.3    Positioning aids WARNING Incorrect application of the belt system/positioning aid Strangulation, suffocation due to incorrectly positioned safety belts/positioning aids X Follow the instructions for proper application so that the user cannot slip into a position that would endanger him or her� X Note that the user's back must be up against the back pad when securing the belt system/positioning aid and during use of the product� X Do not use safety belts or positioning aids if the user is able to sit without them� CAUTION Improper adjustment Crushing or pinching due to adjustments which are too tight X Make sure that you do not pinch the user or crush body parts while adjusting the positioning aids� The option has been installed and preset by qualified personnel� If the option has been adjusted too tightly or cannot be engaged, the safety belt can be subsequently adjusted� The seat can be equipped with positioning systems� 6.12.3.1    Lateral supports The seat can be equipped with lateral supports that provide additional support to the upper body for certain indica- tions� Mounting the lateral supports 1� Loosen the two mounting screws on the rear of the backrest� 2� Position the lateral supports on the inside of the backrest in the desired position (see Fig� 48)� 3� Guide the screw through the slot from the front to the rear, tighten with the wing nut and secure with the Phillips head screw (see Fig� 49)� 4� Lay the back pad over the backrest� Ottobock | 21...
