Stray Magnetic Field

The stray magnetic field of the pump was measured by means of a probe along several
paths. Figure 42 shows the pump axis identification to which we refer in this paragraph. It
is worth noticing that the background contribution due to the Earth magnetic field was
subtracted from the measured values. Curves of stray magnetic field strength along the
center line of the pump and in the plane of the flange as a function of distance from the
pump are shown in Figures. 42, and 43, where Bx is the magnetic field along X axis, by is
along Y axis and Bz is along Z axis:
