9. Basic troubleshooting
Problem / symptom
Check the following if the engine does
not start:

deliver any power to plug receptacles:

Cause / remedy
 Engine switch is in the "Start" position.
 Fuel cock is open.
 Fuel is replenished.
 Choke lever is in the correct position. The choke should
be closed when starting a cold engine.
 No electric equipment is connected to the generator.
 Spark plug is in good condition.
 Spark plug cap is firmly seated.
 Engine oil level is sufficient.
 Fuse switch is closed.

Wiring from the generator to the plug receptacles is
secured.
 Air cleaner condition.
 Condition of the spark plug and spark plug cap.
 How new the fuel is.
