Safety Information for Accessories
Ensure all accessories are rated for use in excess of the maxi-
mum torque of the application. Some available accessories
may be rated for torques lower than the maximum torque
output of the wrench.
General Service and Maintenance Safety
Maintain tools with care: For optimum performance, fre-
quently inspect tool, power pack, hoses, connectors, electric
cables and accessories for visual damage. Always follow in-
structions for tool and pump maintenance. Refer to the Prod-
uct Instruction for further clarification.

Safety Instructions

To reduce risk of injury, everyone using, installing, repairing,
maintaining, changing accessories on, or working near this
tool must read and understand these instructions before per-
forming any such task. Our goal is to produce tools that help
you work safely and efficiently. The most important safety
device for this or any tool is YOU. Your care and good judg-
ment are the best protection against injury. All possible haz-
ards cannot be covered here, but we have attempted to high-
light those areas where your awareness is critical.
• Only qualified and trained operators should install, ad-
just or use this power tool.
• This tool and its accessories must not be modified in any
way.
• Do not use this tool if it has been damaged.

Hydraulic supply and connection hazards
• Disconnect the power supply and depressurize the hy-
draulic system before disconnecting or connecting hoses,
fittings or accessories.
• Never grab, touch or in any way, come into contact with
a hydraulic pressure leak. Escaping oil can penetrate the
skin and cause injury.
• All hydraulic connections must be securely connected.
Loose or improper threaded fittings can be potentially
dangerous if pressurized. Severe over-tightening can
cause premature thread failure.
• Fittings need to be securely tightened and leak free.
• Ensure quick-disconnect couplings are clean and fully
engaged.

• Threaded connections such as fittings, gauges etc., must
be clean, securely tightened and leak free.
• Do not use two twin hoses connected end-to-end. This
will deliver high pressure to the retract side of the tool
and cause it to malfunction.
• Do not use kinked hoses. Inspect and replace if dam-
aged.
• Protect hoses and connectors from hazards such as sharp
edges, heat or impacts. Inspect daily and replace if
cracked, worn, damaged or leaking.
• Ensure that all hydraulic equipment and accessories are
rated for the pump's maximum working pressure.
• Check swivel manifold post interface, before and during
use, to ensure post is securely attached to the housing
and all screws are in place.
Electric supply and connection hazard
(NOTE: This section is only required for electric pumps)
• WARNING - THIS MACHINE MUST BE EARTHED.
Refer to installation instructions supplied with this ma-
chine.
• Always shut off power supply and disconnect pump
when not in use, before changing accessories or when
making repairs.
• Guard against electric shock. Do not use electric pump if
the plug is not earthed.
• Avoid electrical over-loading. Use the recommended
voltage / power supply as stated on the motor data label.
• Minimise the length of extension cords and ensure they
are of adequate wire size and are earthed
• Electric motors can spark and should never be used in
any potentially explosive atmosphere unless certified for
that purpose.
Air supply and connection hazards
(NOTE: This section is only required for air driven
pumps)
• Air under pressure can cause severe injury.
• Always shut off air supply, drain hose of air pressure and
disconnect pump from air supply when not in use, before
changing accessories or when making repairs.
• Never direct air at yourself or anyone else.
• Whipping hoses can cause severe injury. Always check
for damaged or loose hoses and fittings. Whip Checks
should always be fitted.
• Ensure any air fittings and couplings have the correct air
pressure rating.
• Whenever universal twist couplings are used, lock pins
must be installed. Do not exceed maximum air supply
pressure stated on pump.
Operating hazards
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. When
handling / operating hydraulic equipment, use appropri-
ate gloves, safety glasses (EN166), hard hats, safety
shoes, hearing protection and other applicable clothing.
Do not wear loose fitting gloves or gloves with cut or
frayed fingers. Gloves can become entangled with the
rotating drive/socket causing severed or broken fingers.
