3 Scanner overview and features

This optical 3D scanner is designed for use in the dental field to measure and digitize human jaw
models in three dimensions. Using the "structured-light scanning" principle, a stripe pattern of light
is projected onto an optical mirror. The deflection of the light pattern caused by the structure of
the model is registered and processed by the four high-resolution cameras of the scanner unit, and
subsequently digitized into a virtual, three-dimensional model.
