Gas Detector
CAUTION
This guide is not a substitute for the User and
Maintenance manual contained in the product literature
CD.
The Series 47K gas detectors User and Maintenance
manual must be carefully read by all individuals who
have or will have the responsibility for using or
servicing the product.
1. The MSA Series 47K catalytic sensor is suitable for the
detection of gases and vapours in air with a concentration
below the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL).
2. MSA gas sensors/detectors Series 47K can be operated in
conjunction with the following MSA control units:
▪ SUPREMA
▪ 9010/9020 LCD
▪ E 292
▪ ED 098 SMD
3. The Series 47K catalytic sensor cannot measure
concentrations of gases and vapours in inert atmospheres
or oxygen deficient atmospheres. The European standard
EN 50073 indicates an oxygen concentration higher than
10 Vol. % is necessary for correct operation of catalytic
sensors.
4. The certification does not permit use of the Series 47K
sensors in oxygen enriched atmospheres.
