Adjusting chain tension

Special attention must be paid to the chain because
the life cycle of the pinion-sprocket and the chain
itself depends on its proper maintenance.
The chain tension verification zone
tensioner, as illustrated opposite.
WARNING
Oscillation of the chain in the tensioner foot's working area must
be 10 to 15 mm.
To adjust:
- Loosen the nut and axle from the wheel.
- Symmetrically turn the 2 eccentric adjusters until
the chain is properly tense.
WARNING
Place the motorcycle in vertical position and immobilise the
front part.
The position of the two eccentric adjusters must be symmetrical
to guarantee proper alignment between the drive plate and the
chain's pinion.
Regularly check the chain's tension and condition, as well as its
lubrication. See the maintenance schedule.
