Anti-spasm and user safety
Electra S4 is equipped with the new muscular spasm survey sy-
stem, design by I.A.C.E.R. Medical Division R&D Department to
guarantee user safety and an efficient and safe training.
During the movement a quick and unexpected muscular spasm
can occur, and the muscles will rapidly tense.
Electra S4 recognizes the spasm and stops pedals/handles rota-
tion for 3 seconds, and then inverts the rotation to untie muscu-
lar spasm.
The spasm is untied following the antagonist inhibition principle:
a bending spasm is untied trough muscular extension, while an
extension spasm is untied trough bending.
If a second spasm will occur, Electra S4 stops and warns the user
with an acoustic signal: in this way the user safety is guaranteed,
in particular for tetraplegic patients who need to be followed by a
familiar or a doctor. To restart Electra S4 simply press the
start/pause button.

Technical characteristics

Power supply. 230 V - 50 Hz. Electrical motor. 230 V - 50 Hz.
Motor revolutions. 48 min. Motor power. 50 W.
Timer. 3 - 15 min. Pedal semi diameter. 13 - 11 - 9 cm.
Weight. 5.7 kg. Dimensions. 440 x 425 x 285 mm.
Adjustable thrust on pedal radius (fig. 3). Thanks to the new
support, pierced in three different positions, pedals or handles can
be mounted by choosing the rotation radius more suitable with the
height of the user and therefore adapt the movement extension to
the mobility of the joints. The radii are as follows: external hole
R=13 cm, intermediate hole R=11 cm, internal hole R=9 cm. The
radius variations apply to the subjects, respectively: Tall (R=13),
Medium (R=11) and Short (R=9).
Thrust on pedal speed (fig. 5-6-7). Four rotation groups suitable
for any rehabilitative requirement: Low = 15 RPM, Medium-low =
30 RPM, Medium-high = 45 RPM, High = 60 RPM.
Fixing of pedals and handles made easy (fig. 1). Insert the
pivot pin of the pedal or of the handle in the most suitable hole for
the user's height and lock it by screwing the supplied bolt.
