• WARNING : Put the pressure cooker on the hob in such a way that the re-
gulator is always to the left of the knob, to avoid the steam being released
towards the front.Never leave your pressure cooker on the heat without
water or some other liquid inside as you are likely to burn the food and se-
parate the cooker's three-ply base. If steam stops escaping from the regu-
lator there may be no more liquid left inside. In that case turn off the heat
immediately and depressurize the pressure cooker. Open it following the
instructions given in paragraph 8. Add more liquid before continuing with
the cooking. Steam leaks out from between the lid and the cooker body
when the lid is not properly closed or when the gasket is worn. In that case
turn off the heat immediately and depressurize the pressure cooker. Open
it following the instructions given in paragraph 8. Check that the gasket is
in good condition and replace if necessary. Close the pressure cooker fol-
lowing the instructions given in paragraph 6 and resume cooking.
NEVER TRY TO MANIPULATE THE PRESSURE INDICATOR during cooking.
You could be scalded by the steam and prevent the safety mechanisms
from working. (fig. 6)
8 • OPENING
• Take the pressure cooker off the heat.
• Depressurize by placing the pressure cooker under cold running water or plunge into a container of cold water for at least
a minute. (Fig. 8)
• Pull off the regulator. Make sure that no more steam is released from the regulator vent. If steam is still escaping, keep the
pressure cooker immersed in water until the release has stopped.
• When the pressure indicator falls back down, it unlocks the opening safety mechanism.
• Slowly open the lid by pressing firmly downwards and turning the handle clockwise, then lift the lid (fig. 9) (fig. 10)
(Fig. 7)
(Fig. 8)
9 • IF THE SAFETY VALVE OPERATES
• The safety ball valve on the lid is designed to release excess steam in the event of overpressure created by regulator obstruction.
• If a strong jet of steam escapes from the valve, turn off the heat right away.
• Follow the precautions in paragraph 8 to the letter to decompress the pressure cooker and open the lid.
• Carefully clean the regulator, the steam vent and holes on the lid and the protective filter.
• Carry out the checks described in paragraph 4 before using the pressure cooker again.
10 • GASKET EXTRUSION WINDOW
• In the event of strong overpressure in the pressure cooker, as a result of simultaneous
obstruction of the regulator and safety valve, the gasket is designed to push through the
rectangular window on the side of the lid. This extrusion causes a leak that releases the
pressure inside the pressure cooker (fig. 11)
• If this safety device operated, turn off the heat right away.
• Follow the precautions in paragraph 8 to the letter to decompress the pressure cooker
and open the lid.
• Carefully clean the regulator, the steam vent on the lid and the safety valve holes.
• Carry out the checks described in paragraph 4 before using the pressure cooker again.
