Before wiring the pull station, pull all necessary wiring
through a mounted backbox and the optional trim ring.
1. Using the built-in strip gauge, on the back of the pull
station, remove the correct amount of wire insulation.
2. Connect the wiring from the FACPs Initiating Device
Circuit (IDC), identified as pre-signal, to terminals 1
and 2 on the pull stations terminal strip. Connect the
next pre-signal device on the IDC or an End-of-Line
Resistor (ELR) to terminals 1 and 2.
3. Connect the wiring from the FACPs IDC, identified as
general alarm, to terminals 3 and 4 on the pull stations
terminal strip. Connect the next general alarm device
on the IDC or an ELR to terminals 3 and 4.
Warning: Do not loop wiring under any terminals. Break
wire run to maintain IDC supervision.
To activate the pull station, push in and pull down on the
handle. The word ACTIVATED appears after the handle
is pulled down. This will remain until the pull station is
reset.
The pull station includes two individual Single Pole, Single
Throw (SPST) Normally Open (N/O) switches, one for
pre-signal (toggle) and one for general alarm (momentary
closed rocker type) as illustrated below. Activating the pull
station places the toggle switch (pre-signal) into the closed
position. The responsible individual on site would then
investigate and if no emergency exists, the pull station is
reset. If an emergency does exist, the pull station would be
opened with the key and the general alarm switch would
be pushed, latching the fire alarm system into alarm, turning
on the notification appliances.
Resetting the Pull Station
1. Insert the key into the lock and rotate 1/4 turn
counterclockwise.
2. Open the door until the handle returns to normal.
3. Close and lock the door.
Note: Opening the door will not activate or deactivate the
pre-signal toggle switch. Closing the door automatically
resets the toggle switch to the Normal position.
